A Futuristic Society
There are times and places
That appears the same
Moments in moments
That screams out pain
Individuals passing
With the latency of eye
Unaware of their dualities
That represent contrasting styles
There are societies passing
Through the scopes of time
People interfacing
With the past
Presenting problems for the future—
There are times and places
That appears the same
Only the environment has changed
As cultures and customs transition
Through that mirror-fabric of time
Many artifacts remain the same
For time is the constant reminder
That entwines our worlds together
No matter the reality of the moment—
As I look for clarity in each window
About stories of parallel worlds
That speaks to horrific tells
Which influences others
That ignites our fears
With chaos and destruction
That creates our paradox
A future altered by another—
There are times and places
That appears the same
Only the intervals of the period moves-on
Berated for centuries of turmoil
Is this the future, we seek?
The relinquishing of one world
For the survival of another—
There are times and places
That goes back-n-forth in time
That appears all the same
Only the ocular landscape
And transformation of humanity has changed—
